Beschreibung

The MGB was launched in May 1962 to replace the MGA. Introduced as a four-cylinder roadster, a coupe with 2+2 seating was added in 1965. The MGB was a relatively modern design at the time of its introduction utilising a monocoque structure instead of the traditional 'body-on-frame' construction used on both the MGA and MGT types. The lightweight design reduced manufacturing costs while adding to overall vehicle strength. Wind-up windows were standard and a comfortable driver's compartment offered plenty of legroom. The MGB's performance was considered brisk at the time of its introduction with a 0-60mph time of just over 11 seconds aided by the relatively light weight of the car. Handling was certainly one of the MGB's strong points.

This lovely example of this iconic British favourite sportscar is presented in Teal Blue with Ochre interior. It sits on wire wheels and benefits from overdrive and a restoration which was carried out in the 1990s, testament to that work is that the car presents in such good condition today. It was resprayed whilst being restored and wax oiled for protection. The present owner has fitted a new steering wheel and hood this year. It comes with an extensive history file going back to the late 1990s including 21 MoT test certificates and it has a current MoT test certificate which expires on 21st January 2026. A wonderful MGB in great condition and ready to be used. Consigned by James Good
