The Mercedes SLS is the first car fully developed by AMG themselves. Each engine is assembled by just one technician at the AMG works in Affalterbach and receives a signed and engraved plaque. The M159 engine, installed behind the front axle, can be considered a front-mid engine layout and the V8, with its dry-sump system and 6’208 cc, delivers 571 horsepower which are sent to the transaxle through a 7-speed twin-clutch gearbox. The sportscar was first presented at the September 2009 IAA and became officially available on the 27th of March 2010. The roadster variant “SLS AMG Roadster” was presented on the IAA in autumn of 2011 and became available from the 19th of November 2011. Until May 2014 2’292 of those high-performance cabriolets found willing and affluent buyers. The example offered, completed on the 11th of September 2012 was delivered in Switzerland and handed over, through Auto Schmid AG in Unterentfelden, to its happy first owner on the 10th of January 2013. Painted “Designo Mystic white 2” with a reverse camera, dead angle assistant, media interface for the command system and a memory package for the seats, the new prize for the sporty cabriolet exceeded 265’000 francs. In December 2017, with 9’459 kilometres driven, the SLS was taken over by the 2nd and so-far last registered owner and added to his collection of German sports cars. Since then, the car was only driven sparingly but the full service history indicates regular maintenance with the last service performed in June 2024 at 10’244 kilometres. With about 10’600 kilometres driven and a complete document folder, the AMG is in very good and lovingly cared-for original condition and will be handed to over to a new owner with the most recent MOT from May 2025.
