Beschreibung
Under the label TVR in Blackpool, sports cars with tubular framework, glass fibre reinforced bodies and mass produced, and readily available technical bits were built from 1947. From 1959 to 1965 coupés with evocative names such as Grantura, Griffith and Vixen were offered with a wide variety of engines. In 1971 TVR developed a new frame which formed the basis for the so-called M series which was produced until 1979 and powered by engines from humble 1.6 litres to enormous 5 litre V8’s. The Taimar offered, with a Ford Essex 3 litre V6-engine and left-hand drive was delivered to Germany where it was first registered on the 17th of February 1978. In October 2023, the rare Coupé with his folding roof (only 395 examples were built between 1976 and 1979) was taken over by the vendor and imported into Switzerland. This was followed by a major service and an overhaul of the front suspension, the replacement of the tyres and the rear wheel hubs and the installation of a stainless-steel exhaust system. Since then, the Taimar, due to lack of time, has only been driven around 600 kilometres. With 110’500 kilometres driven the Brit is in good overall condition and is sure to provide loads of thrills to a new owner. The last veteran MOT was completed in June 2024.
