Around the mid-1920s Antonio Piazza founded the Fabbrica Italiana Moto Piazza in Turin, building the first bicycles powered by a 125cc 2-stroke single-cylinder engine; Success in competitive and regularity events increased his fame as a skilled builder so that he quickly moved on to building motorcycles with higher displacements, 175, 250 up to 500cc, his masterpiece, equipping it with a single-cylinder overhead valve engine with exposed needle springs and a separate Sturmey & Archer 4-speed gearbox. For the chassis, he relies on the classic parallelogram fork with central spring while the rear end is rigid, the brakes are generously sized drums, adequate for the brilliant overall performance._x000D_
