Beschreibung
Andreas Nikolaus Lauda, commonly known as Niki Lauda, made his Formula 1 debut in 1971 at the age of 22, securing a seat in a March car for the Austrian Grand Prix with the help of a bank loan. Despite completing only 20 laps, his determination led him to secure financing for the 1972 and 1973 seasons. After delivering some standout performances, he caught the eye of Scuderia Ferrari, which offered him a position for the 1974 season. Transitioning from a paying driver to a paid one marked a significant milestone in his career!
In his first season with the "red" team, he secured 9 pole positions and 2 victories driving the 312 B3. In 1975, he clinched the World Championship title with 5 victories driving both the 312 B3 and 312 T. Finishing second in 1976, his final season with Scuderia Ferrari (1977) resulted in another championship title.
The item presented here is exceptionally rare, having been installed on Niki's 312 T to evaluate an early version of an adjustable front wing. The current owner, deeply involved at the time, also reveals that the test runs could have occurred during a Monaco Grand Prix.
