As one of only 951 examples with a long wheelbase, this beautiful Mercedes with its 3.5 litre V8 engine was first registered in the Nidwalden Canton on 15th August 1972. The car is well equipped with its automatic gearbox, air conditioning, electrically operated windows and roof and the optional velours interior. In 1987 this faithful friend was taken over by the second owner who cherished his car for another 29 years. In 2011 the automatic gearbox was overhauled, followed by a coachwork partial restoration in 2012 and in 2015, the cylinder heads were overhauled. In November 2016, the luxury saloon was taken over by the current owner, a collector and enthusiast of the three-pointed star from Stuttgart Untertürkheim. He used his SEL regularly and made sure it was regularly maintained. In 2019 the suspension springs as well as the stabiliser bushes were replaced followed by a wheel bearing replacement in 2022. The Mercedes is in very good and exceptionally well-maintained condition and will be handed over to a new enthusiast with the most recent Veteran MOT from May 2022.
