The History
Innovative and fascinating: this is the slogan used by Mercedes to briefly describe the convertible with foldable hard-top, a solution destined to make school.
In 2000 Mercedes-Benz presented the restyling of the R170, with the powerful SLK 320 version with a 218 horsepower 6-cylinder engine.
Performance: 0–100 km/h in 6.9 seconds and top speed 245 km/h.
Nicknamed SLK (German acronym for sporty, light and short), still more than 25 years later, the modern and balanced style of Bruno Sacco, Head of Design in Mercedes, remains synonymous with originality in tradition.
The SLK is one of the Youngtimers with the greatest potential in terms of revaluation and one of the most appreciated by fans of the German company. Undoubtedly the designers of Stuttgart did an excellent job for its modernity, but with strong references to the classics of the past. Today we can consider it a true collectible classic.
