Registered in Italy in 1998, of military origin (Italian Army) completely restored in two years and then registered for civilian use in April 2019 by the current owner. It has covered 265,000 km since its first registration and about 15,000 since restoration. Valid MOT until March 2021. Short wheelbase version with 6 seats.
One of the last examples with the 300 Tdi engine in the 111hp version that is among the most popular Defender engines. This series also featured a new 5-speed gearbox and disc brakes on all 4 wheels with self-ventilated front disc brakes. The Defender, a name that originated in the 1990s when the Land Rover range expanded with the Discovery model to flank the Range Rover and the veteran Land Rover. The name derives from its extensive use in the military and defence fields. The 300Tdi is the last Defender before the advent of engine management and later on-board electronics. Still simple and robust, but with the added performance of a powerful direct injection engine. The vehicle on offer was restored, customised and enhanced with name-brand accessories and improvements to increase further the Defender’s already high off-road prowess. With the 2019 release of a new model that no longer has the formidable frugal versatility of its ancestor, the classic Defender has experienced a noticeable increase in prices that are currently still on the rise.
