Beschreibung

Manufactured in November 1965 and supplied new in December by Jaguar Cars, New York, this wonderful series 1 E-type has been the subject of a recent complete restoration.

She was imported by marque experts Lanes Cars, who for over 20 years now have been restoring and modifying E-Types

As often happens, this particular 4.2 FHC found a new owner even before Lanes started their restoration process, so the specification chosen was rather elegant, and so apt as it has been chosen by a Lady (yes there are many Ladies who love classic cars too - many of whom we are happy to call our customers) and what a super E-Type she has prepared for us all to enjoy

Opting for the classic combination of opalescence black paint & red leather interior replacing the original silver blue and dark blue interior

The respray is of the highest quality with 5 coats of primer being applied before the top coats are carefully put on and the car laid to rest in the oven to assure the paints long life. Prior to that the body shell itself is subject to a five stage rust prevention process.

There are of course photographs and records of the work carried out which was completely comprehensive including the conversion to RHD.

Also in the file is the Jaguar Heritage Trust Certificate confirming that the engine and chassis numbers are matching to original.

The engine was stripped and rebuilt to Jaguar Cars original specification. Only the cylinder head is re-worked and fitted with hardened valve guides to allow her to run well on unleaded fuel.

Of course we still only use the high octane good stuff but with this upgrade you don't have to worry about stopping at fuel stations that stock lead-replacements.

The gearbox, all suspension, the rear axle and braking components were all given the same level of care.

All in all every stage of the Lanes restoration is meticulous and thorough and when she was completed in September of 2019 their usual comprehensive years warranty was applied. At the time the odometer read 91,777 miles since when only a further 110 have been completed.

The question to be answered is, do you go through the nearly two years of having your car restored, after finding the correct project vehicle and the hassle therein, or do you buy one fresh out of the box.

This example really is fresh out of the box with such limited usage since completion of the restoration, so you'd still get all the pleasure of a fresh restoration.

A great opportunity then to jump into a beautifully restored E-type ready for their 60th birthday, ready to run-in and enjoy for another 60 years
