Beschreibung

"Rather like gold and property, there are a number of other investment vehicles (excuse the pun) that can be relied upon within the classic car market. Cars that, when tracked, prescribe a curve that can not only be relied upon to remain even and constant but also offer the investor a reasonably dependable return. Where it differs from more conventional investments is that it accelerates to 60mph in 7.6 seconds, has a top speed of 153mph and represents one of the most beautiful objects ever penned by a human being.Behind the wheel, the visceral experience is exquisite, women think you are intoxicating and the simple pride of ownership is one that overrides even an Apple corp. share certificate. It's a constant wonder to me that not everyone has a Jaguar E-Type. This example is the commonly known series I½, with the 4.2 engine. It became the most desirable version of the famous E-Type due to the increased power and usability while retaining the same outward appearance as the earlier cars. Only 1,942 Series I½ Fixedhead Coupés were produced and just 375 were produced like this example, in righthand drive.
This lovely matching numbers example is presented in dark blue with grey leather interior and was purchased new from Henlys Mayfair in London on 14th June 1968. This wonderful car has been used sparingly in its life, being used only occasionally by its various owners over the years, in particular, having been garaged from 1971 to 1986 by one of its owners and then once again between 1991 and 2009. Its outings encompassed the Jaguar E-type anniversary meeting at Donnington Park in 1991 and also at the 50th Anniversary at Silverstone more recently. Its factory grey leather is still in good condition showing a nice patina, which is complemented by its superb chrome wire wheels and the gleaming dark blue paintwork. An extensive recommissioning was carried out and some modern upgrades were added which included electronic ignition, Koni dampers, uprated brakes and a stainless steel exhaust. However, it still retains its original radio, heated rear window and comes with many old MoT test certificates to authenticate the genuine low mileage. This Jaguar also comes with its original hand book, full set of original tools and jack. Interestingly, this wonderful Jaguar was featured in ‘Jaguar World’ in 2016. A great opportunity to acquire one of the most popular and practical models of this iconic marque.Interested parties should note that the private registration plate shown is to be retained by the vendor and a new, age-related registration issued instead.
