Der Mercedes-AMG C63 DTM

Die DTM-Saison 2018 war überaus erfolgreich für Mercedes-Benz: Gary Paffett gewinnt zum zweiten Mal nach 2005 die Fahrerwertung und wird DTM-Meister. Den Titel macht er am 14. Oktober 2018 im zweiten Rennen auf dem Hockenheimring mit einem dritten Platz perfekt. Mercedes-AMG Motorsport gewinnt außerdem die Team- und die Herstellermeisterschaft 2018. Insgesamt bringt das Jahr 2018 dem Mercedes-AMG Motorsport DTM-Team neun Rennsiege (darunter fünf Doppelsiege und insgesamt 28 Podestplätze), zwölf schnellste Rennrunden und 14 Pole-Positions. Diese Bilanz unterstreicht: Mercedes-AMG Motorsport ist das erfolgreichste Team der DTM-Geschichte. Seit dem werksseitigen Einstieg in die DTM hat die Stuttgarter Marke elf Fahrermeisterschaften mit zusammen 195 Siegen und 14 Herstellertiteln errungen. Auf der Höhe des Erfolgs zieht sich Mercedes-AMG zum Ende der Saison 2018 aus der DTM zurück und engagiert sich ab dem Jahr 2019 in der Formel E. Das Renngerät der sechs Mercedes-Fahrer um Formel 1 Rückkehrer Pascal Wehrlein, ist auch im Jahr 2018 wieder das C-Klasse Coupé. Das Fahrzeug wurde optisch an verschiedenen Stellen verändert – einmal aus Design Gründen – und vor allem durch das geänderte technische Reglement. Beim Design fällt sofort der neue AMG-spezifische Kühlergrill mit vertikalen Streben auf. Der Grill und die Scheinwerfer bilden die optische Brücke zum Serienmodell des C 63. Viel tiefgreifender sind aber die Änderungen auf Grund des Reglements. Die 2018er Fahrzeug müssen mit einer deutlich reduzierten Aerodynamik auskommen. An der Front der Fahrzeuge kommt auf jeder Seite künftig nur noch ein so genannter Aero-Flick zum Einsatz. Zusätzlich ist der Flick kleiner als in der Vorsaison. Als weitere Änderung wurde der Seitenkanal unten am Fahrzeug deutlich vereinfacht und die Seitenplatte im Bereich unterhalb der Türen entfällt komplett.Durch die auf das gesamte Fahrzeug bezogene Reduktion der aerodynamischen Anbauteile wurden der Abtrieb um zirka ein Drittel verringert. Ziel dieser Maßnahme ist es ein besseres Racing auf der Strecke zu ermöglichen. Wenn die Fahrzeuge instabiler auf der Strecke liegen, ist die Chance auf den ein oder anderen Fahrfehler möglich und erlaubt es dem direkten Konkurenten ein Überholmanöver zu starten.

Bei dem hier angebotenen Fahrzeug handelt es sich um die Nummer RS15-012, welche erstmalig in der Saison 2015 eingesetzt und von Robert Wickens pilotiert wurde. Highlight der Saison war der 2. Platz auf dem Norisring, sowie natürlich der Sieg auf dem Nürburgring. Auch 2016 und 2017 wurde dieser C63 DTM von Wickens erfolgreich durch die Saison bewegt, was insbesondere 2016 mit Platz 4 in der Gesamtwertung zur besten Mercedes-AMG Platzierung führte. Auch in dieser Saison beendete Wickens mehrere Rennen auf dem Podium, unter anderem mit einem 2. Platz in Hockenheim, gefolgt von Platz 3 am Nürburg, sowie am Norisring, sowie zwei Siegen in Valencia und Moskau. Mit dem Fahrerwechsel 2018, folgte niemand geringeres als der ehemalige Formel 1 Fahrer Pascal Wehrlein in das Cockpit von des C63 DTM. Dieser schloss die Saison, nach seiner Rückkehr aus der Formel 1 auf dem 8. Rang ab. The Mercedes-AMG C63 DTM

The 2018 DTM season was extremely successful for Mercedes-Benz: Gary Paffett wins the drivers' championship for the second time since 2005 and becomes DTM champion. He made the title perfect on October 14, 2018 in the second race at the Hockenheimring with a third place. Mercedes-AMG Motorsport also won the 2018 team and manufacturers championships. At the height of its success, Mercedes-AMG is withdrawing from the DTM at the end of the 2018 season and will be involved in Formula E from 2019. The racing machine of the six Mercedes drivers around Formula 1 returnees Pascal Wehrlein is also in 2018 again the C-Class Coupé. The vehicle was optically changed in various places - on the one hand for design reasons - and above all due to the changed technical regulations. However, the changes due to the regulations are much more profound. The 2018 vehicles have to make do with significantly reduced aerodynamics. At the front of the vehicles, only one so-called aero-flick will be used on each side. In addition, the flick is smaller than in the previous season. As a further change, the side channel at the bottom of the vehicle has been significantly simplified and the side plate in the area below the doors has been omitted completely. The reduction in aerodynamic add-on parts for the entire vehicle has reduced downforce by around a third. The aim of this measure is to enable better racing on the track. If the vehicles are unstable on the track, the chance of one or the other driving error is possible and allows the direct competitor to start an overtaking maneuver.

The vehicle offered here is number RS15-012, which was used for the first time in the 2015 season and was piloted by Robert Wickens. The highlight of the season was the 2nd place at the Norisring and of course the victory at the Nürburgring. In 2016 and 2017, this C63 DTM from Wickens was also successfully driven through the season, which led to the best Mercedes-AMG placement in 2016 with fourth place in the overall standings. Also this season, Wickens finished several races on the podium, including a 2nd place in Hockenheim, followed by 3rd place at the Nürburg and the Norisring, as well as two victories in Valencia and Moscow. With the driver change in 2018, none other than the former Formula 1 driver Pascal Wehrlein followed into the cockpit of the C63 DTM.
