The Speedster is one of the most influential and beloved models in Porsche’s history. It was originally created at the request of legendary US importer Max Hoffman, who saw a demand for a lightweight sports car, one that would appeal to both sporting drivers and hardcore weekend racers. Porsche took Hoffman’s advice and created a lightened 356 with a lower windshield, race-inspired bucket seats, and a minimal top.
