Beschreibung

This is the first factory restoration car Jaguar commisioned and the third to have been completed. Most likely too is that she is the only one to have been left with the factory since completion. In fact before being delivered to us she hadn't seen the world outside of the custodianship of those who created her.

The factory used her for display at classic motor shows including Le Mans Classic, Goodwood, Essen and at the opening of the new JLR design centre. In addition to being the showroom car to give an example to customers of how sublime theirs could be!

The quality of the finish is quite extraordinary fully justifies the cost.

Jaguar chose to use this particular example for such crucial moments in their project as it was, by all accounts, a favourite amongst the team.

Our car however has really never been sullied by the use of another, as mentioned earlier the first post-restoration owner chose to leave her with the factory and as a result the miles total only a little over 400 since completion. Those miles put on by non-other than legendary driver Andy Wallace of Le Mans winning fame and none whatsoever have been done on public roads.

Originally our car was supplied to the USA through Jaguar Cars New York where she was owned by a Mr Foye, a naval man stationed in California. He used her when not on deployment before being relocated to Virginia in 1977 at which point she went into storage before a famous musician recently bought and imported her to the UK. He was the only UK owner before Jaguar Classic bought the car and entered her into the reborn project.

Finished in the original colour scheme of Opalescent Golden Sand over light tan interior (which we think is more akin to the classic Hermès Orange) she truly is a stunning thing to behold. Naturally the benefit of a restoration like this is that some of the more modern developments which have happened since the original creation of the car can be sympathetically encompassed, and following the advice of the Jaguar team these include; a tubular exhaust system, classic style stereo with modern usability (bluetooth etc), uprated brakes and suspension as well as the conversion to right hand drive.

New E-Types in the day didn't have the level of detail and perfection this does! Everything from the stitching, the smart leather tool roll to the leather surrounds for the hatchback hinges are lovely touches that really set her off.

The low mileage and pedigree make this a very special opportunity to buy an out of the box restoration without going through the time and money needed to complete one yourself. Jaguar have also just serviced her and added a years warranty as of July 2020.

Complete with photographs of the whole restoration, before, during & after and a signed book from the team who built her we think this is the best fully restored E-Type on offer anywhere.
