Beschreibung

The second collaboration of Aston Martin and the famed Milanese Carrozerria Zagato, the V8 Vantage Zagato project re-united the two companies after nearly 25 years, producing a distinctive and purposeful successor to the highly rated DB4GT Zagato.

The competitively priced example we are pleased to offer, was first owned by George Minden, a former shareholder of AML and prominent classic car collector. Delivered new in Javelin Grey with Dark Green hide interior is currently finished in Masons Black with black hides. The condition of this car can be described as excellent throughout, having been maintained correctly by the last two owners, both well-regarded collectors and longstanding clients of Nicholas Mee & Co.

Powered by the mighty 430 hp (321 kW) all alloy V8 ‘X- Pack engine, equipped with 4 x 48mm twin-choke Weber carburettors with revised inlet and exhaust systems, the V8 Zagato offered the ultimate in performance and was the company’s fastest available road car, able to hit a top speed of over 180mph, with a 0-60mph time of less than 5 seconds. Significantly lighter, more aerodynamic and faster than the already-world-beating V8 Vantage, the performance was frequently compared in period, to that of the Ferrari 288 GTO and Porsche 959.

Limited to 50 production examples, the coupe's were built between 1986 and 1990 following the model’s launch at the 1986 Geneva Motor Show. Featuring lightweight construction techniques, wind tunnel developed aerodynamics and the distinctive signature double-bubble roofline. All 50 were sold, prior to the first delivery.

With distinctive 1980’s styling and exceptional period performance, V8 Vantage Zagato values have yet to be fully recognised, when considered against other Zagato derivatives of Aston Martin models and opportunities to acquire, high quality and low mileage examples are becoming rare.

Offered Complete with its service records and original Zagato handbook, original photos and invoices for previous works and maintenance, we are delighted to offer this exceptional car, fully prepared and serviced to date.

Available for viewing and demonstration now at our Hertfordshire showrooms.
