Where to start when reviewing this lovely 1977 Chevrolet Corvette C3 L82? With the extensively available documentation including the original bill of sale? The low 56,000 milage? The fantastic double red colour scheme? None of the above! We should start with the most important fact that the Corvette was owned by its owner for 43 years and was a present from the famous racing driver A.J. Foyt. The car comes out of a collection. Foyt is the only American racing driver to have won the Indianapolis 500, the Daytona 500, the 24 hours of Daytona and the Le Mans 24 hours. Between 1960 and 1980 Foyt co-owned a Chevrolet dealer franchise. The collector worked for the Foyt racing team for years and was given the Corvette for services rendered. Besides the car demonstrably coming from Foyt himself, he also signed the passengers sun visor. Not only has this Corvette got a fantastic history, objectively it is a very attractive looking car. The car has a deep red finish with a deep red interior trim, all in very good condition. The paintwork is is in very good condition and more or less original. The fibreglass bodywork is in good condition with correct alignment as is the condition of the Targa roof. The steel chassis is also in top condition and rust-free. It shows that the car has always been garaged. The red leather interior is in well cared for original state. The 350 cubic inches (5.7) V8 engine has a L82 High-Performance Pack. The L82 pack ups the normal 180 Hp to 210Hp output achieved in part with a Single Four-Barrel carburettor. As you may rightly expect the V8 engine will always have enough oomph. The engine is coupled to a 3-speed automatic. The Corvette has extensive documentation including the original bill of sale! A very authentic Corvette with a great provenance!
