On the 6th September 1966 Triumph UK was commissioned to build this TR4 IRS for its first owner a Mr. J.R. Davis who worked out of the U.S. Naval Research Lab in Washington D.C. The car was shipped out aboard the SS Lohengrin and arrived Stateside on the 13th November 1966. After 16 years he sold the car on to a Mr. Goldman in early 1980. Mr. Goldman only kept the car for a year when he sold it to a Mr. Tucker. The Triumph then stayed in longterm ownership of the Tucker family for 38 years. In 2017 invoices totalling $5,000 evidence major maintenance carried out to the Triumph. This TR4 IRS has only had 3 owners in 54 years. No less remarkable is the amount of documentation that comes with this car. The first bill of sale, the communication between the client and Triumph UK, the invoices, the brochure, the workshop manuals and a notebook with mileage and fuel use all form part of the extensive documentation. As if this is not enough, the car still has its factory supplied paintwork and its original, matching numbers, engine. The dashboard appears to be original and the carpets and seats have been refurbished in the original colours that the car came with when new. This example is truly unique, a true survivor!!
