1962 ROLLS-ROYCE SILVER CLOUD II CONVERTIBLE BY MULLINER PARK WARD:
--Velvet Green with Biscuit leather interior, Green carpeting and Tan canvas convertible top, Restored with limited mileage since, 6.2 liter V-8 engine, 4-speed automatic transmission, Air conditioning, One of 75 examples built, Debbie Reynolds, Lucille Ball celebrity ownership.

Rolls-Royce introduced the Silver Cloud in 1955. Up to this point all Rolls-Royce cars had been delivered in chassis form for bodying by outside coachbuilders. As the market for coachbuilt cars was diminishing, Rolls-Royce needed a modern plan and turned to sister company Bentley for their well-received steel saloon body. The Silver Cloud II was released in 1959 powered by an all-new 6.2 liter aluminum overhead valve V8.

This Cloud II is one of 107 drophead coupes by Mulliner-Park Ward and one of only 75 factory left-hand drive examples. Please do not confuse this with many later conversions or adaptations which are essentially coupes and saloons cut down to create a convertible. Ordered as an original USA spec LHD, this Cloud II was delivered to Debbie Reynolds and her then husband, Harry Karl, owner of Karls Shoe Stores in Beverly Hills, CA in December 1961. At time of delivery in Los Angeles, this Cloud II was fitted with Lucas P100 headlamps by George Barris Kustoms for a period bespoke Phantom look.

Subsequently, the Cloud II was then sold to Debbie Reynolds’ good friend, Lucille Ball and her production company Desilu Productions. One can only imagine Lucy and Desi cruising the streets of Beverly Hills in period.

Later, it was sold to its third owner, Seema Boesky (formerly Seema Silberstein), wife of Ivan Boesky. After long-term ownership, the Boesky’s traded the car in 1994 to Dragone Classic Motor Cars of Connecticut. Rolls Royce specialist, Richard Gorman - Vantage Motor Works, acquired the Cloud II through Dragone in 1995 and commissioned a full restoration. The original Porcelain White over Scarlet trim was changed to current specifications of Velvet Green over Biscuit trim. After restoration, the Rolls was sold to a Mr. Roberto Kasinsky of Miami, Florida.

It then found its way back to California in the early 2010s and owned by Mr. Darren Enenstein. Mr. Enenstein performed over $20,000 in servicing with Scott Motors in Los Angeles, CA to keep everything in exceptional condition and working order. It was then traded to Heritage Classics of West Hollywood, CA and sold to its previous owner-collector on Long Island.

This Cloud II is complete with owner’s manual, tools, tonneau cover, documented ownership history, scanned copies of the original build sheets, factory chassis and body assembly cards and factory inspection with road test and test cards. In superb restored condition, this is a fantastic opportunity to own one of the rarest Rolls Royce convertibles in original left-hand drive form as originally delivered from the factory. This Cloud II with its exceptional and detailed list of owners from new is a significant part of Rolls Royce history. Superb throughout, it is ready for the concours lawn or immediate touring pleasure.
