Ultimate drivers Giulietta Spider in exceptional condition

A Centro Documentazione Alfa Romeo Heritage Certificate confirms this early Giulietta Spider (chassis 1495 00802) to have a build date of 30/10/1956 and a delivery date of 10/11/1956 in New York. The car had made its way over to LA by the late 1980s from where it was imported into the UK in 1989 at which time it was described as rust free but requiring a full restoration.

In 2004, the car was bought by a well-know Giulietta Club member who undertook a comprehensive restoration which was completed in 2008. The car was finished in the fabulous colour combination of Grigo Grafite with a new burgundy leather interior with matching Wilton carpets and burgundy 3-point lap and shoulder belts. It was also treated to a new black mohair hood. The car was restored to be driven and particularly with touring in mind so the owner took the decision to install a 1570cc Giulia engine fitted with a pair of twin choke Weber carburettors and a Giulia 5-speed gearbox. This gives the car exceptional performance and torque and the extra gear allows longer A-road journeys to be a pleasure. The original block, crankstaft, rods, head, stump and some ancillaries remain with the car so it could be put back to original specification should anyone wish to. Much of the bodywork restoration was undertaken by marque specialist Chris Robinson of RM Restorations, who also vetted the car for the current owner when be bought it 3 years ago.

This beautiful Alfa Romeo Giulietta Spider is an early short chassis example with the ultimate performance package and it is just a wonderful car to drive in every way. It had new tyres fitted 1500 miles ago, it has an extensive history file including details of the restoration and it has cover only 10,500 miles since its restoration.
