At the 5th of April 1948 the rolling chassis #915 637# of this Alfa Romeo 6C 2500 SS left the holy halls of Alfa Romeo S.p.A. in Varese close to Milan, to be completed with the rare convertible style body at the at PininFarina factory in Turin. The car was completed on 12th May and later shipped to the United States. It had been ordered by the Griswold Manufacturing Company in Wayne, Pennsylvania. After several ownerships in the US, France, Germany, Hong Kong and England, the car came to Germany. The first restoration was done in Perigueux/ France, based on an original, complete base. A second careful restauration was undertaken in Germany and finished in 2014.
The elegance and grandezza of the short chassis Alfa of the early post war era is still practically unmatched.

Am 05. April 1948 verließ das rollende Chassis dieses Alfa Romeo 6C 2500 die Werkshallen der Alfa Romeo S.p.A. in Varese bei Turin, um bei PininFarina mit dem seltenen Cabriolet Aufbau versehen zu werden. Am 12. Mai war es dann soweit. Auf Bestellung der Griswold Manufacturing Company in Wayne, Pennsylvania, wurde der Alfa fertiggestellt und in die USA verschifft. In den frühen 2000ern kam das Fahrzeug zurück nach Europa und wurde erstmals auf hervorragend kompletter Karosserie in Frankreich restauriert. Nach einem weiteren Verkauf wurde der Wagen zwischen 2012 und 2014 komplett überarbeitet und steht nun in hervorragenden Zustand dar. Kaum ein anderer Alfa steht so sehr für die Grandezza der frühen Nachkriegs - Alfa wie der 6C mit dem kurzen Radstand.
