In 1964 Ford’s new Mustang literally caught the rest of Detroit off guard. For that matter, it caught Ford Motor Company off guard, as they never envisioned the success of the new model, which sold several times over projections. Ford built an incredible 685,989 units that first year, including 101,945 convertibles. Only a fraction of those were delivered new to Europe, such as the example presented here.

Accompanied by its original Dutch title, this example was delivered new on 11 February 1965 and remained with its first owner until 1976. The car was exported to Germany in 1979 and remained there until 2006, when it was shipped to Portugal. Painted Wimbledon White over a red bucket-seat-equipped interior, a 120 bhp, 200 cc inline six-cylinder engine powers this example, equipped with the optional styled-steel wheels and power top. It begs for continued European touring.

Acompanhado pelo seu registo de propriedade holandês original, este Mustang foi entregue novo a 11 de fevereiro de 1965, permanecendo com o primeiro proprietário até 1976. Foi exportado para a Alemanha em 1979, onde ficou até 2006, quando foi enviado para Portugal. Pintado em branco Wimbledon, tem interior em pele vermelha, incluíndo bancos dianteiros tipo bacquet. O motor de seis cilindros em linha deste exemplar, com 200 ci (3277 cc), debita 120 cv. Está ainda equipado com as jantes opcionais Styled Steel e capota automática com motor hidráulico.
