At first glance, it would take a connoisseur to distinguish between the 2002 Ferrari 575M and its predecessor, the 550 Maranello. However, underneath the elegantly sculpted Pininfarina bodywork were changes that draw a clear distinction between the two.

For the first time on a twelve-cylinder Ferrari, customers were given the option of a six-speed F1-style semi-automatic transmission, and when paired with the enlarged engine, now displacing 5.75 litres rather than 5.5, it helped unlock a top speed of over 200 mph and a 0–60 mph time of just 4.1 seconds. For some it is the ultimate modern Ferrari GT—a car with the timelessly elegant aesthetics of the 550 Maranello and the performance of a 21st-century supercar.

This particular 575M was delivered to its first owner in Lisbon in October of 2002. Finished in Nero Daytona over a beige interior with Nero carpets and outfitted with the optional F1-style gearbox, it has spent its entire life in Portugal’s warm, dry climate and presents in fine condition. Accompanied by its original service manual, the odometer currently shows just under 21,300 km from new. This would be an excellent car for a special occasion or a continental jaunt, as Ferrari would have intended.
