1972 LAMBORGHINI ESPADA SERIES II DOWNDRAFT:
--Black with Beige leather interior, Beige carpeting, uprated 5.2 liter 48-Valve V12 Countach Downdraft carburetor engine, 5-Speed manual transmission, HRE wheels, well-serviced, a true Lamborghini hotrod, Must be one of the fastest Espada’s in existence.

The four-seater GT Espada was designed by Marcello Gandini at Bertone and only 1,217 cars were made over 10 years and 3 series of cars. Very minor changes were made to the exterior over the 10 years and the major changes were to the interior and dashboards to distinguish each of the 3 series. The Series II Espada was the most desirable out of the 3 series with 575 cars produced.

This all Lamborghini hot-rodded Espada is an incredible concept and build. Many hot-rodded Lambos out there usually share a drivetrain and powerplant with something of American descent….Not this one! The pièce de résistance of this Espada is the powerplant up front – a Countach sourced, 5.2 liter 48-Valve V12 with Downdraft Weber carburetors.

In order for the downdraft carbs to fit, a custom bonnet bulge was styled and molds very-well into the remainder of the body lines. Originally built with a 3.9 V12 making 350bhp, this Espada’s Downdraft V12 makes closer to 475bhp. Also fitted to the engine is a custom-made $5,000 carbon fiber air box cover. Over $40,000 in sorting and servicing has been done to this Espada over the last few years in previous ownership including carburetor rebuild, all plugs, water pump, fuel hoses, brake rebuilds and new pads, alternator and custom exhaust rebuild. It has been well-serviced and drives extremely strong.

Currently fitted with adjustable Sparco racing seats up front, the original leather covered Espada front seats are included with the sale (pictures in the gallery). The rest of the interior has been left all original and shows well for this 47-year-old Lambo. The Espada also includes its original jack and tools and all recent service receipts. This is a unique opportunity to own a well built Lambo Espada that has been built properly and in the fashion of a true Lamborghini hotrod!
