Detailed History
This beautiful V8 Saloon Automatic was manufactured during 1977 and finished in the wonderful colour combination of Madagascar Brown paint with a fawn Connolly leather interior, just as it presents now.

Chassis 11763 was supplied by St. Helier Garages of Jersey and first registered to a lady on the island on January 1st 1978, and judging by the relatively high mileage covered in the car’s first year it seems the V8 was used primarily for journeys around England rather than Jersey. The first service was carried out by Aston Martin Lagonda on January 12th 1978 at 1,260 miles, the second service by Aston Martin authorised dealer Clifford Sales of Southampton on June 17th at 5,089 miles, and the third service by St. Helier Garages on November 20th at 15,925 miles.

In the Spring of 1979 Clifford Sales Limited had presumably acquired the Aston Martin from the lady as they registered it in the UK in their name and offered it for sale. Cuttings from the newspaper featuring the advertisements for the car are included in the history file.

After having the AA conduct a Vehicle Inspection Report (on file) on the V8 in July 1979, the V8 was acquired by a gentleman in Stanmore, Middlesex. The sales invoice (on file) from Clifford Sales Limited records the odometer reading as just 17, 217 miles, and initially the car was registered to his property development company in August 1979, but in June 1989 he registered it in his own name. He was clearly very fond of the car and fastidious in his retention of documentation, which included keeping a note book recording the dates of use, the mileage covered, and the fuel used for each journey he undertook during his twenty years of ownership.

In May 1999 the car was acquired by someone in Pinner, Middlesex, who recorded the odometer reading as 85,245 miles at the time of purchase. It is possible that this person knew the vendor as they lived less than five miles from each other. Two years later in April 2001 the car moved to a new owner in Glasgow, Scotland, who in the Autumn of 2002 had a well-known Scottish restoration company carry out a repaint of the car in its original colour.

After seven years in Glasgow, in October 2008 the car was purchased by a lady in Colchester, Essex, who, after another seven years sold the car to the current owner in Yorkshire in June 2015, where it joined their sizeable collection of Aston Martin and other classic cars.

Cars rarely have such a superlative history file as this wonderful Aston Martin V8 Saloon Automatic. The file is packed with a copy of the original Build Sheet, three service books with both authorised dealer and specialist stamps along with notes detailing the work carried out, a large quantity of maintenance invoices and correspondence between owners and authorised dealers and specialists, copies of previous V5 registration documents provided by the DVLA detailing a complete ownership record, and almost every MOT certificate from its first one in December 1980 (at 29,719 miles), as well as the aforementioned documentation. Now showing 104,700 miles on the odometer, this wonderful motor car is in excellent condition and ready for a further owner to enjoy.
