Beschreibung

"The Jaguar Mk. II was built as a successor to the 2.4 and 3.4 litre models which were manufactured between 1957 and 1959. It was a handsome, powerful and good handling saloon which was offered with a choice of three six-cylinder twin cam engines; 2.4 litre, 3.4 litre or 3.8 litre. Raced by all the top drivers of the day including Graham Hill, Roy Salvadori and Michael Parkes, the Mk. II has scored victories throughout saloon car races in the sixties and was also raced across Europe in the Tour De France and Monte Carlo rally.
This 1964 Jaguar Mk. II was registered in the Netherlands in 1990 and almost immediately after that, was subject to a complete nut-and-bolt restoration which was fully documented with photographs. These images, included in the history file, immediately show the high standard of restoration this vehicle has been treated to. Every inch of the car, including bodywork, engine, drivetrain, upholstery, woodwork and chrome has been checked and where necessary given a new lease of life in the best way possible. The 2.4 litre engine has been completely taken apart and overhauled, including the four-speed manual gearbox with overdrive. After the bodywork was completed, it received a bare metal respray in a beautiful and elegant metallic blue, even underneath. The grey leather upholstery, which of course has been completely renovated as well, matches perfectly with the exterior and has helped to achieve the sophisticated look and feel of the original car. The restoration took almost nine years at a total cost of around £70,000 and, despite being completed some time ago, it has been perfectly maintained. Therefore this beautiful Jaguar still looks, drives and handles like it left the Browns Lane factory only yesterday."
