"The TR6 was introduced in 1968 and was the bestseller of the TR range when production ended in July 1976. The bodywork closely resembled that of the previous model, the Triumph TR5. The design house, Karmann Consultants, squared off the front and back ends to give the TR6 its sharpened look. Fitted with a 2.5 litre, in-line six-cylinder engine, the TR6 could reach 60mph in just over 8.5 seconds and onto a top speed of 120mph. The TR6 featured a four-speed manual transmission with an optional overdrive unit and semi-trailing arm independent rear suspension, rack and pinion steering, 15 wheels and tyres, bucket seats and a full complement of instrumentation. Braking was by disc brakes at the front and drum brakes at the rear.
