Beschreibung

This vehicle, unveiled at the Turin motor show in the autumn of 1963, was Maserati’s first Quattroporte – a vehicle so groundbreaking and unique that its success would last through the decades. The elegant lines, large size, luxury trim, cutting-edge technical solutions and extraordinary performance of the Maserati Quattroporte immediately made it an object of desire for the era’s upper classes.

The 4,135 cc V8 engine developed 260 hp, giving the car a top speed of 240 km/h (150 mph) without compromising on driving comfort, making it “the fastest mass-production saloon in the world” The vehicle offered an exceptional level of driver and passenger comfort, higher than competitors, thanks to its luxurious finish, electric windows, five-speed transmission, four disc brakes and numerous other options which were almost unheard of at the time. This vehicle was manufactured by Vignale in Turin, to a design by Pietro Frua.

The vehicle remained in production for six years, undergoing only a few minor changes in 1966, such as the addition of dual front headlamps Given its high cost and production times, only 776 of the first series of the Quattroporte were produced, making it an extremely rare and sought-after car today.
