Beschreibung

Chassis 162045 was purchased new at Over-Keys Motors in Miami by Eloise V. Poindexter, who traded in her new Ford Mustang. Nicknamed “Baby,” the Porsche was driven regularly, but only in good weather, with the top reportedly lowered just a single time in her ownership. In 1987, Ms. Poindexter decided to sell her beloved Porsche, as she could no longer get underneath to change the oil herself. It was sold to the consignor, a classic car enthusiast and close friend of Ms. Poindexter, who acquired the Cabriolet displaying 28,280 miles. The consignor, however, soon gave birth to her first child, and the car was put into dry storage at her home.

The 356, run occasionally until approximately 20 years ago, was never driven again, though it has been well cared-for. Apart from some minor body imperfections and peeling paint on the hood, the car is wonderfully preserved, with a remarkable original interior.

The engine was recently recommissioned after nearly 20 years of inactivity, but the Porsche will require further mechanical attention before any road use. It comes with the original top boot, tool kit, jack, keys, Bill of Sale, driver’s manual, service book, and copy of factory Kardex.

As the consignor states, “I only hope that the next lucky owner of ‘Baby’ will cherish the car as much as Ms. Poindexter and myself.”
