Beschreibung
Marcello Gandini derived the Espada’s exterior from one of the many disruptive designs of his early career, the Lamborghini Marzal show car. Built from 1968 to 1978 in three series and powered by the firm’s four-liter V-12, Espada’s overall production totaled 1,217.
This Lamborghini Espada Series II spent many years in storage before its second owner sold it in 2012 to The Vintage Connection of Oklahoma City, with just over 32,000 miles on its odometer. Chassis 8486 received extensive restoration work before successfully completing the 2013 Run of the Bulls in Colorado, where its upgraded air-conditioning and adopted electric power steering system proved practical enhancements. In August 2013, this Espada secured a Third in Class at Concorso Italiano in Monterey, California, before being acquired by the consignor a few months later.
Finished in lovely (“Light of the Forest”), the car’s original green interior has been replaced with tan. Seating and trim panels are executed in sumptuous high-quality leather, which is softer and more durable than the extremely thin hides typical of 1970s Lamborghinis. Showing approximately 33,500 miles and in uncommonly beautiful condition for an Espada, this is an exceptional opportunity to acquire a top-level example of this desirable model.
