Very fine and rare, manual winding stainless steel wristwatch, water-resistant, round button chronograph, tachimeter scale, black dial. Delivered to the Peruvian Air Force. Signed: Dial, Case and Movement.
This reference 6265 with black dial is one such special issued watch. The case back is engraved «Fuerza Aérea del Perú», along with the three digit code ‘147’ which is very lightly engraved on the bottom of the case back. Most “FAP” three digit codes have been rubbed out with general wear, yet this one remains crisp. Making this watch a realy Iconic timepiece.

*It has been asserted that since as early as 1960, the Peruvian Air Force commissioned Rolex with a supply of watches for their high-ranking officials and personnel. The Rolex Cosmograph Daytona models given to them were delivered with engravings on the outside of their casebacks reading «Fuerza Aérea del Perú». Unlike the civilian version of these watches, those designed for the Peruvian Air Force not only had the serial number engraved in-between the lugs at 12 o’clock, but also inside the caseback along with the reference number – consistent with other “issued” Rolex watches of the era.

To the present model, the case back is engraved «Fuerza Aérea del Perú», along with the three digit code ‘147’ which is very lightly engraved on the bottom of the case back. Most “FAP” three digit codes have been rubbed out with general wear, yet this one is clearly legible.
