The car was delivered new as a group 3.5 as per the factory records that accompany the car. In 1975 the car was driven by Polese at Le Mans and was converted to full group 4 specification shortly afterwards. The car is extremely well known and has had an extensive European race and hill climb history throughout its life and competed at the Monza 1,000km, 6 Hours of Vallelunga, 1975 and ‘76 Giro d’ Italia plus many others and was still running competitively in the early 80s with wins at the Trofeo Csai della Montagna in 1982 and the Coppa Csai della Montagna in 1983. It has a simply huge history file with current FIA papers and has over 30 pictures in the well known book –De Tomaso, Machine de Corsa by Philippe Olzyk.
The car has just completed a total strip and rebuild in every respect having had approximately £80,000 spent on it. This included a full engine/gearbox/suspension/roll cage/fuel tanks/wheels etc. T
