Superbe sculpture en bronze « la Conquêt de l'air » ou « Icare » , grand modèle d'exposition signé Georges Colin pour la société Farman, production française, circa 1911, bronze creux finement ciselé représentant la figure mythique ailée Icare prêt à prendre son envol d'un rocher, adopté par la Société des Avions et Automobiles Farman et censé être une des rares pièces produites pour être exposées dans les magasins des agents de la marque, signé « G. Colin » sur le côté gauche de la base avec la mention « Bronze garanti au titre L. V. Déposée » dans un cartouche avec cachet du fondeur et marqué « (10) 5169 » sur l'arrière de la base, la figure de teinte bronze clair avec ailes couleur bronze plus foncé, envergure 76cm, monté sur un socle en marbre original, hauteur totale 77cm.

finely detailed hollow-cast bronze depicting the winged mythical figure Icarus poised to take flight from a rocky outcrop, adopted by the aeroplane and automobile manufacturer Farman Company and believed to be one of only a small batch produced for display in Automobiles Farman showrooms, signed 'G.Colin' to left side of base and with 'Bronze Garanti Au Titre L.V. Deposee' cartouche foundry stamp and marked '(10) 5168' to rear of base, the figure with light bronze colour and darker bronze colour wings, wingspan 76cm, mounted on original marble base and measuring 77cm high overall.
