A superb and very rare Sterling silver cigarette box, manufactured by Garrard to commemorate the 600th anniversary of the granting of the royal charter to The Goldsmith’s Company (1327), the lid with the company’s full coat of arms in relief, the side engraved "The Gift of The Goldsmith’s Company AD 1327 – 1927," the interior engraved ‘’Presented to William Augustus Steward, Liveryman of The Goldsmith’s Company etc.’’ Stamped "Garrard and Co Ltd, Albemarle Street, London W" hallmarked London 1927, complete with original Garrard’s box marked William Augustus Steward.
