August Gaul. 'Cat' (signet), c1920 (later cast). Bronze, light brown patina. H. 11.5 cm (bronze), incl. base: 12.0 cm. Signet under the plinth. It is said that of this version of the cat, 1 cast was made when Gaul was still alive, 4 posthumously and a few casts are of a more recent date. According to Dr. Josephine Gabler, this seems to be a later cast not belonging among the 4 posthumous copies.
