Beschreibung
Hispano-Suiza produced aero engines of multiple configurations as early as WWI until the 1950s. In 1928, Hispano-Suiza debuted the 12M and 12N series, two new V-12 aero engines with an advanced design which greatly improved cooling and reliability by use of wet cylinder liners and nitride hardening. These resilient V-12 engines were fitted to myriad aircraft and flying boats. Interestingly, a Hispano-Suiza 12NB engine powered the first non-stop flight from Europe to the US in 1930.
While the early history of this engine is not known, it has been proudly displayed at the Mullin Automotive Museum for many years and is beautifully presented on a rolling wooden display stand, complete with carburetors, magnetos, reduction housing, and wooden propeller. This magnificent engine, with its imposing presence, will surely make a very impressive display piece in any enthusiast’s garage or collection.
*Please note that all of the Lots in this Auction have been in long-term static storage at the Mullin Automotive Museum and may not be currently operational. They will require mechanical attention and in some cases significant restoration prior to any road use.
