"The first Wolesley company had been a manufacturer of sheep shearing equipment but by 1896 started the production of motor cars under the management of Herbert Austin as General Manager. Austin left in 1905 to pursue his own designs and motor production at Wolesely then came under the influence of J D Siddeley resulting in vehicles manufactured between 1904 and 1910 being marketed under the Wolseley-Siddeley name.
This magnificent veteran motor car is a 4 cylinder 15-hp 3282cc with overhead inlet and side exhaust valves, the cylinders being 4 inches in bore and 4 inches in stroke cast in pairs. Transmission is via a cone clutch to a four speed gearbox with shaft final drive. This lovely car was purchased by the present owner’s father on his 21st birthday (June 1956) with a non original post 1932 London registration number and called it Milly, which he lovingly owned and cherished until he passed away at 88 years old last July. He purchased a more suitable and desirable registration number “B200” in May 1967 which is still with the car today. The registration documents show that the car was repainted from Primrose/Black to Maroon/Black in May 1972. The upholstery is in beautiful matching maroon buttoned leather with a folding beige hood. A two piece folding windscreen provides plenty of protection. Period Brass light fittings are present front and rear. Accompanying the car is a VCC dating certificate no: 573 issued on 1st May 1956.
The present owner has preserved a collection of documents and spare parts relating to the car, including an instruction manual and technical documentation from Wolesley-Siddeley. Additionally, he has the purchase invoice, which provides details about the price and date of purchase, as well as several original photographs. An electric start mechanism has been thoughtfully installed without altering or damaging the original structure, and it can be easily removed if desired to revert to the original specification. Lastly, the car boasts a complete set of original brass lamps.Interested parties should note that the original buff logbook is in the history file, but the later modern V5 registration document is currently misplaced by the present owner. The car therefore will be sold without a modern V5 registration document and the new owner will need to apply for one. "
