Beschreibung

In the late forties a new make of car was established in Blackpool, England. TVR referred to the name of the founder, TreVoR Wilkinson, who together with Jack Pickard started producing various 'specials' from 1949 onwards.
From the outset TVR always employed a single design principle, i.e. low weight combined with a powerful engine.

A first serial production model had to wait until the introduction of the TVR ‘Sport Saloon' (1953-1955).
Nevertheless, the car maker only made a real impact in 1958 with the launch of the ‘Grantura’, which really put TVR on the map.
Alongside the 4-in-line engines that had been used until then, the introduction of the ‘Griffith’ (1963) meant that larger V6 and V8 power sources supplied by Ford would henceforth be used.
As a result the ‘Griffith’ established a reputation for being exceptionally fast and easy to handle… A formula that TVR was only too happy to continue with in its successor, the Tuscan, which was introduced in 1967. Despite the fact that production was stopped at 174 units in 1971, the model would be revived in the period between 1999 and 2006.
The concept was maintained for the ‘Tuscan Speed Six’. A glass fibre body - weighing only 1100 kg – with a front mounted power source. There was a choice from 5 different engines. The cylinder capacity rose from 3.6 to 4.2 litre, resulting in power varying between 350 and 440 HP.

From 1999 the Tuscan was available in a coupé version or with a removable Targa top, until 2004 when on 22 May a full convertible version was introduced at the Birmingham motor show. However, the latter would only remain in production for 2 years.

Whatever the choice of composition, the Tuscan was always supplied without ABS, traction control, etc. A highly individual car for true daredevils!

‘Collection by Vermant’ is delighted to be in a position to offer this April 2006 TVR ‘Tuscan Speed Six MKII’. It is one of 1677 such vehicles built between 1999 and 2006, of which just a mere handful were ‘full Convertibles’.
Chassis number ‘1082’ was supplied new in the UK (Right hand drive) in ‘Topaz Blue metallic’ with a two tone leather interior (Oxford blue/ Prussian blue). The carpets and soft top, on the other hand, came in ‘Navy blue’.
The car was equipped with a 4.0 litre 6 cylinder engine, delivering 380 HP.
In addition to having 18 inch light alloy wheels it also included a factory fitted alarm, an Alpine radio with CD changer, etc.

This unique TVR, which has so far been enjoyed by just 2 owners, has only 8000 miles on the clock. Not surprising, therefore, that this Tuscan is just like new!
The vehicle comes with a full history, 2nd set of keys and all original documentation.
Car comes with a UK registration.
