The A80 Supra was unveiled at the 1993 Detroit Motor Show, this was the fourth generation of the Supra and it has seen increasing popularity all over the world, partly because of a certain movie franchise that began about 20 years ago.
There were two engine options, both 3-litre inline-6. One was the 2JZ-GE a DOHC naturally aspirated engine with 225 hp and 284Nm of torque and the other was the famous 2JZ-GTE, essentially the same engine but with twin-turbochargers making 280 hp and 431Nm of torque.
This example is a completely stock ‘SZ’ which has the NA engine and an automatic gearbox.
It has only had 2 owners from new and the current owner has kept it in an indoor car park for 22 years since 1999, maintenance was done by an official dealer for several years.
The A80 Supra is one of the most iconic cars in the JDM scene and is known for being easily tuned to unimaginable horsepower figures. Now that this car is over 25 years old it means that it can be legally imported to the US which has resulted in increased demand and therefore prices. Examples like this one, completely stock and original, are rare and collectible cars.
