This 1989 Toyota Land Cruiser is finished in Dark Gray Metallic over a patterned blue/gray cloth interior and is powered by a 4.0-liter inline-six mated to a four-speed automatic transmission and a dual-range transfer case. It spent much of its life in California before being relocated in 2010 to Virginia, and being imported in France in 2020.
Additional equipment includes a trailer hitch, a roof rack, power windows and locks, a CD stereo, and an aluminum radiator. The cylinder head gasket was reportedly replaced in 2018, while the oil pan gasket, battery, and upper radiator hose were replaced in the last year. This FJ62 now shows 164k miles and is offered with manufacturer’s literature and a maintenance list from 2010-2020.
The body is finished in original Gray Metallic (155) with a light gray pinstripe and features chrome bumpers, quad headlamps, a horizontally-split tailgate, and Land Cruiser-branded mud flaps.
Equipment includes a roof rack, a rear receiver hitch, and chrome mirror caps.
Factory chrome 15″ wheels feature manually-locking front hubs and are mounted with 31″ BFGoodrich Rugged Terrain T/A tires. A matching spare accompanies the truck.
The cabin features blue/gray striped cloth and vinyl seats with matching door panel inserts. Amenities include air conditioning, carpeted floor mats, power locks and windows, a CD/cassette radio from a later Toyota has been added.
The two-spoke steering wheel frames a tachometer and a 110-mph speedometer with a six-digit odometer showing 164k miles.
Power is sent to the rear or all four wheels through a four-speed automatic transmission and a two-speed transfer case.
The transfer case lever shifts between two-wheel high and four-wheel low gearing, while four-wheel high range can be engaged via a switch to the right of the steering column.
The 4.0-liter 3F-E inline-six was introduced for the US-spec 60-series Land Cruiser beginning in 1988, and was factory-rated when new at 155 horsepower with 220 lb-ft of torque. This example is fitted with an aluminum radiator.
Service in August 2019 included replacement of the oil pan gasket, fitment of a new battery, and an oil change, while the upper radiator hose was replaced in March 2020. A list of work performed between 2010 and 2020 is completing the files.
The May 2020 U.S Carfax report shows no accidents or other damage and lists California and Virginia registration from its first update in 1993.
The vintage Toyota Land Cruiser series' are getting more and more sought after with their iconic design and reliability.
This example is in a overall excellent original condition and can be inspected in our workshop in Paris on appointment.
