** Legendär. Unverwüstlich. Wie neu – der FJ45 Pickup von 1967**
Ein Toyota Land Cruiser ist das, was viele historische Automodelle für sich reklamieren, es aber nur selten sind: eine Ikone. Bereits seit 1951 wird er produziert, bekannt ist er für seine extreme Robustheit, Langlebigkeit und Geländetauglichkeit, die er in afrikanischen Wüsten oder im australischen Outback x-fach unter Beweis gestellt hat. Ein Weltauto, wie es kaum ein zweites gibt.
Nicht wenige gingen in die USA, so auch dieser Land Cruiser Pick-Up. Dorthin passt er auch sehr gut, ist er doch ein Nutzfahrzeug mit sehr viel Power unter der Haube, praktisch das Off Road-Äquivalent eines muscle cars. Unser angebotener Land Cruiser wird 2017–2018 in South Carolina komplett neu aufgebaut. Insgesamt fliessen dabei über 2000 Arbeitsstunden in den Neuaufbau, wobei die Neulackierung in der Ursprungsfarbe erfolgt. Auch der Reihensechszylinder-Motor wird dabei zerlegt und komplett revidiert. Rund 750 Bilder dokumentieren die ganze Restauration. Das fertige Fahrzeug präsentiert sich auch gemäss Classic Data-Kurzbewertung im Zustand 1 (-).
Anfang Oktober 2018 verkauft der Restaurator den Land Cruiser an einen Hamburger Arzt, 2022 erhält er in Deutschland einen frischen TÜV mit H-Kennzeichen. Ende September des gleichen Jahres kauft ihn der Einlieferer und stellt ihn zwischenzeitlich in der Motorworld in München aus.
**Legendary. Indestructible. Like New – the 1967 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ45 Pickup**
A Toyota Land Cruiser is what many classic vehicles claim to be - but rarely are: an icon. Produced since 1951, it has earned its reputation for extreme durability, longevity, and off-road prowess, proven countless times in the deserts of Africa or the Australian Outback. A true world vehicle – almost without equal.
Many Land Cruisers were exported to the USA – including this pickup version. And rightly so, as it fits the American landscape perfectly: a workhorse with plenty of power under the hood, essentially the off-road equivalent of a muscle car.
The Land Cruiser offered here underwent a complete restoration in South Carolina between 2017 and 2018. Over 2,000 hours were invested in the rebuild, with the new paintwork applied in its original factory color. The inline six-cylinder engine was fully disassembled and comprehensively rebuilt. Around 750 photos document the entire restoration process. The final result is a vehicle that, according to a Classic Data short appraisal, is in condition 1 (–).
In early October 2018, the restorer sold the Land Cruiser to a physician in Hamburg. In 2022, it received a new TÜV inspection in Germany, along with H-plate (historic vehicle) registration. At the end of September of the same year, the current consignor acquired the vehicle and displayed it temporarily at Motorworld Munich.
