Cars were produced by Clement Talbot Ltd in North Kensington from 1904. However following World War I the company became part of the Anglo-French STD combine consisting of Sunbeam, Talbot and Darracq. During the early twenties the British Talbot arm of the group was weakest with a series of out-dated models. To this end, George Roesch, an accomplished engineer, was transferred from the French Talbot Co in France to develop a competitive new model. The brilliant 14/45 tourer was launched to much acclaim at the 1926 Olympia Motor Show. The 1,666cc six cylinder engine provided smooth power throughout its range.
