Beschreibung

This classic car is for sale on Catawiki. To have more information or to place a bid click on the "BID NOW" button. .Version: \tCharlesworth Motor Bodies, custom-made, removable hardtop.
Engine: \t\tDorman 4-cylinder engine with a displacement of 1100 cc and approx. 20 hp.

Very well preserved, no repairs necessary; clutch and brakes refurbished, carefully restored, Austrian documents, the car participated in the Seiberer hill climb in 2016 and the Kühtaier hill cup in 2001.

Swift was a British car manufacturer from Coventry from 1901 until 1931. Swift closed its doors in April 1931 during the great depression.

This copy is a special model, it has a two-seater top construction by Charlesworth Motor Bodies. The roof including the windows (but not the windshield) can be detached by removing three screws.

The engine was not made by Swift, it’s a Dorman engine which was ordered and installed. The electrical equipment would have been a special order at that time and was only installed during restoration.

The vehicle was built in 1914 and delivered and registered for traffic on the Isle of Man in 1915. In 1918 or 1919 it was confiscated by the military and came back into private ownership in 1924. From 1930, the trace of the car is lost, until it emerged in the 70s, when Mr. Peter Black discovered it and started restoring it very carefully. It was registered again in 1982. Unfortunately, Mr. Black died in the 2nd half of the 1990s, and the family gave the incompletely restored vehicle to a dealer who sold it to me in 1999. The restoration was finished in the subsequent years, and the car is in a beautiful and roadworthy condition today.

Since the Swift Club shows this particular vehicle in the model overview, it seems quite certain that this is the only survivor.

The attached photos show just how unique this Swift is.
The car has a British vehicle registration as well as Austrian vehicle documents (see photos).

The Swift can be viewed and picked up in Innsbruck, Austria. If desired, the Swift can also be delivered within a 600 km radius.
