The Simca 8 Sports FHC offered here is a rare car. SIMCA (Société Industrielle de Méchanique and the Carrosserie Automobile) once started as an assembly company for Fiat. The Simca 8 Convertible is actually a Farina with a different grille. Battista 'Pinin'farina, then still working in the family business 'Les Stabilimenti Farina', had designed this convertible based on the Fiat 1100, a car with the same chassis as the Simca 8. The design was used for the Cisitalia and the Fiat 1100, including the Spider. The body of the Ferrari 166 Inter Convertible was also made by Stabilimenti Farina. Compared to the Italian brands, the value of the Simca 8 Sport has been left behind. Based on the convertible, the coupé was created in 1949. Simca launched a campaign to find a French supplier and found one in the person of Jean Daninos, director of Facel. Farina granted a license to install a production line at the Facel factory in Colombes, on the outskirts of Paris. The aluminum parts were pressed in the Amboise plant and the finishing (spraying and painting) was done in the Dreux plant. All in all, this is a car with a rich history. In all likelihood, there are around 5,000 units of the Convertible and the Coupé together, where there is only a small number of the Coupé version.

The cars on offer are part of a static collection that has been accumulated over the last 40 years. They are mainly in an unrestored, original but dusty condition. We have not tried to start any of the cars. We have been informed that the engines have been turned, on a regular basis, but the exact condition of the cars and the engines is unknown to us.

Viewing days:

Due to the expected high attendance, you will only be able to visit a viewing day if you purchase an admission ticket. Registration for a viewing day is required.
