Beschreibung
In 1990 Martin Williamson, Rodney Rushton and Sean Batchelor founded the “Classic Roadster Company” in Sunbury on Thames in Surrey. In 1991 the company was renamed into “Sebring Cars” and began building a modern interpretation of the legendary Austin-Healey 3000. These cars were available as a kit or turn-key complete. The first model, the Sebring SX was mostly equipped with Ford Granada V6 technical components. From 1992 the MX, with a slightly broader coach work, was available with V6 or V8 engines. Our example is one of the 150 cars from this series and was produced as a complete car. In May 1994 it was imported by the vendor as a new car and, following a very exhausting “one-off” approval procedure, was finally registered on the 1st of July of the same year. Thanks to its ladder frame and GRP coachwork the Sebring only weighs 1’130 kilogrammes which, combined with the reliable Rover 3.9 litre V8 delivering bags of torque, coupled to a 5-speed gearbox, results in a very rapid sports car that provides loads of thrills. The roadster was only used in fair weather, and always well maintained. This special cabriolet, it is the only such example in Switzerland, has had only one owner and has covered a mere 29’800 kilometres. It is in very good and well-maintained original condition. The last MOT was completed in July 2020 but since the Sebring could be MOT’d as a Veteran car in July 2024, this would be taken care of by the vendor for any Swiss buyer.
