Sbarro Super Eight 1984 – One-of-a-kind example – Carefully maintained

In the early 1980s, Franco Sbarro wanted to develop a “compact and powerful” car and unveiled the “Super Twelve” at the Geneva Motor Show in 1982: a 12-cylinder inline engine, 800 kg, and a surprisingly unusual gradient paint job... the car made a splash! Despite the car's appeal, Franco Sbarro did not continue development of the Super Twelve, as it lacked torque, was difficult to tune, and (very) sensitive to drive. A disappointment!

Not one to be discouraged, and with the support of Bernard Grohe, Franco Sbarro got back to work and introduced the Super Eight in 1984. Aesthetically very similar to the Super Twelve, it differs in terms of mechanics. Equipped with a Ferrari 308 GTB QV V8 engine (and its 5-speed gearbox), it remains just as wild to drive but becomes more balanced and enjoyable.

A unique example in the world, usable, and fitted with a truly fine engine, this Super Eight is a rolling UFO, built by one of the most emblematic engineers of the 1980s. Could it be an early take on the “urban Ferrari”?

It is important to note that this Sbarro runs perfectly, has been carefully maintained, and is driven regularly. It comes with Dutch registration and can be registered in France. A large file is provided with the car, and its history is known.
