Offered here is an excellent example of the Salmson GSS sports model, featuring three roller-bearing crankshaft and four-speed gearbox.

Boasting matching chassis/engine numbers, this restored Salmson GSS was sold new in the UK and is currently registered there as 'YP 3640'. The car comes with an illustrated competition history covering its earliest days at Brooklands up to more recent VSCC events in Britain; the numerous scrutineering tags in the cockpit constitute a particularly impressive record. The Salmson was owned during the 1920s by one W Basil Bryan, who is recorded as competing in the JCC High Speed Trial on 18th June 1927 and 1st November 1929 (although possibly with his previous car). 'YP 3640' competed in a further three JCC High Speed Trial events, winning a silver medal on 4th July 1931 (car number '29') and a standard award on 24th June 1933 and 30th June 1934 (car number '33' and '25' respectively. The Salmson was pictured in action in The Autocar (10th July 1931 edition) and there are photographs of it in the National Motor Museum archives competing in the aforementioned 1934 event.

Described by the private vendor as in very good condition throughout, this charming Vintage-era sports car is offered with a UK V5C Registration Certificate; an old-style logbook (issued 1950); and the aforementioned history.

Affichant des numéros de châssis et de moteur concordants, cette Salmson GSS restaurée a été vendue neuve au Royaume-Uni et est actuellement immatriculée YP 3640. La voiture est vendue avec historique en compétition illustré depuis ses débuts à Brooklands jusqu'à de récentes manifestations historiques en Grande-Bretagne. Les nombreux tickets de vérification qui ornent l'habitacle constituent un témoignage particulièrement impressionnant.

Dans les années 1920, la Salmson a appartenu à un certain W.
