Rolls-Royce Silver Wraith Hooper LWB: A Masterpiece from the Golden Age of British Luxury

Picture green rolling hills, a gravel drive, and a stately country house rising through the morning mist. This is the world into which a Rolls-Royce was born. For over a century the name has stood for unrivalled luxury, engineering perfection and an almost regal driving experience. Founded in 1906 by Charles Rolls and Henry Royce, the marque became the very benchmark of understated elegance and craftsmanship. Rolls-Royce grew into the favoured conveyance of world leaders, aristocracy and celebrities: a tradition that lives on to this day.

Amid this rich history, the Rolls-Royce Silver Wraith was introduced in 1946. It was the first model Rolls-Royce built after the Second World War, and instantly the flagship of the marque. The Wraith was conceived as a platform on which only the most prestigious coachbuilders were permitted to create their masterpieces. Think of names such as Park Ward, Mulliner and, of course, Hooper, the builder renowned for absolute refinement, exceptional proportions and timeless class.

The Exquisite Elegance of the Hooper LWB

The example offered here is no ordinary Silver Wraith. This is a Silver Wraith Hooper LWB (Long Wheel Base), one of the most sought-after and exclusive versions ever built. A mere 17 examples left the ateliers of coachbuilder Hooper, celebrated for luxurious, hand-crafted creations with an aristocratic air.

The cream-coloured paintwork, combined with the authentic cloth interior, breathes the atmosphere of the 1950s in its purest form. Everything about this car tells a story: the long wheelbase that lends majestic proportions, the stately Hooper lines that flow gracefully across the bodywork, and the dazzling craftsmanship you will find almost nowhere today.

A Car with a Prize-Winning History

This example was first registered on 28 February 1954 in England. Precisely where it belongs: among the green hills, stately manor houses and traditional British grandeur.

Over the years this Silver Wraith has not only been lovingly maintained, but comprehensively restored while preserving every original detail. The result? A museum-worthy condition that in 2020 was crowned with a prestigious Concours d'Elegance award. An honour reserved only for cars that are outstanding both historically and aesthetically.

With an odometer reading of 10,999 (as shown on the dial, in keeping with tradition among classics), the car is in exceptionally fine condition. Every detail, from the gleaming trim to the soft textile of the interior, bears witness to care, attention and a love of heritage.

Condition: An Icon in Sublime State

This Rolls-Royce is in a condition rarely encountered nowadays. The restoration was carried out with the greatest possible precision, so that:
• The bodywork gleams as it did in 1954
• The interior has retained an unrivalled level of originality
• The automatic transmission shifts smoothly, as only a Rolls can
• All mechanical components function just as Henry Royce himself intended

This is not a car you simply look at. This is a car you experience: one that carries you back to another age, a time when quality and elegance were the standard.
