Beschreibung

"The Rolls-Royce marque has long been the benchmark of automobile for which many aspired to. The Silver Wraith II is an extended wheelbase version of the popular Silver Shadow II and it was named in honour of the first post-war Rolls-Royce. The Silver Wraith was further distinguished from its shorter wheelbase stablemate by the fitting of the Corniche/Camargue-pattern wheel trims. Changes to the Silver Shadow that carried over to this more upscale model included the addition of rack-and-pinion steering, plus significant improvements to the front suspension that also helped improve the handling and overall performance. These changes ushered in more modern standards that were already available on selected competitors in this fashionable field of vehicles. The larger Silver Wraith was considered the top of the range for Rolls-Royce in this period and also stands apart due to its Everflex covered roof and small rear window. Increasingly sought after by interested collectors, only 2,135 Silver Wraiths were manufactured by the time production ended in October of 1980.
This 1979 Wraith II has been well looked after during its 42 year life by its few long term owners. Presented with original owner’s manuals and a well stamped service book showing works undertaken by various dealers including Dutton Forshaw, Wadham Stringer and supplying dealer Dyer. During the vendors tenure, this impressive looking Rolls-Royce has benefitted from equally impressive servicing and maintenance including a braking system overhaul, re-connolising, fitment of new Everflex roof, repainting, overhaul of carburettors, air conditioning service and new headlamps. The total cost of these works is in excess of £15,000 with the most recent service being undertaken in August 2021. This car is also fitted with a fully documented Autogas LPG conversion and comes complete with fitting certificate and UK and European filler nozzles. The tank is located in the boot and the filler is cleverly hidden behind the petrol filler door. Offered to auction with a V5C registration document, this Rolls-Royce is ready to be enjoyed by a new custodian.
