Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow 6.8 Saloon type ll

A dream of a maintenance book. 17 x maintenance in just 40,000 miles, that's every 2,300 miles! The car also feels like new in terms of driving. And not only driving, the car itself is also very beautiful. Inside, the leather has acquired a bit of patina over time. And what a beautiful color scheme, the Highland green body with everflex roof in combination with the Beige Parkertex Savoy Velvet interior. Chassis number of the car is SRH33463, First commissioning is March 1978. The car came to the Netherlands with 32000 miles from the UK. Recently serviced by Leo Stoffels.
Original handbook with all additional documentation is available. Original Storno phone too. In addition to the period Blaupunkt radio, a modern radio CD player has also been installed.

The history of the car:

The car was ordered in the spring of 1977 by Mr. Craven who lived in the region
Cambridge (UK) and had a good position at the University of Cambridge. Mr. Craven at the time
successfully completed a project for space travel and rewarded itself with the purchase of one
new Rolls-Royce.
Like every first owner of a Rolls-Royce, his personal preferences for the appearance of
makes the car known, Mr. Craven at the time too.
Some specific requirements that mr. Craven reported on production were:
- Antenna in the middle of the roof, as with the previous model and the Rover models.
- Auto-reverse cassette player in the center console
- Green accents in the interior and top role of the dashboard
- Beige Pullmann interior with green trim
- Footrests and Lambswool rugs
- Picnic tables in front seat backrests and headrests
- Foot switch for the high beam function and 2nd foot switch for a Fiamm horn
- Alarm on the Flying-Lady
- Everflex roof cladding
- Fog lamps under front bumper, for the airdam
- Fire extinguisher in trunk
On March 1, 1978 the car was delivered to mr. Craven, who made the car only for special
used occasions until his death in the mid-1980s. Then his son took over
the car over and had a phone built in. The car was also made exclusively by his son
used for the exclusive rides. Mr. Craven Jr. was not able to enjoy the car for long.
He died not long after his father. His mother wanted the car to remain in the family, but
did not have a driving license himself. The special Silver Shadow II of which there are only three
built in this color scheme was the pride of the late her husband and the late her son. She did everything there
to keep the car in good condition and use what it was purchased for. The widow
gave her gardener the task of having the car serviced and asked him to do it every now and then
to drive. The gardener fulfilled this task with verve and had the car serviced
and ridden until the death of mrs. Craven at the beginning of the 21st century. Around 2005 the
Widow to die and the Silver Shadow II was sold to a
enthusiast known to him, also from the Cambridge region. The buyer was Mr. T. Winter one
enthusiast who owns a Silver Shadow that has been completely restored. Mr. Winter has the car
maintained and ridden until the end of 2011. Over the years, the original interior has been digested and is
replaced by a leather interior and the green accents have been preserved as much as possible
stayed. When the restoration of Mr. Silver's Shadow Winter was ready he sold the
SRH33463 to the current Dutch owner with a mileage of approx. 32,000Mls
Nice detail is to tell how the car got into NL on March 15, 2012, after the current one
owner had viewed and assessed the car in England. At the Autotron in Rosmalen
agreed, where a technically expert member of the RR&B association in the Netherlands would take the car
judge. While waiting in the parking lot, the car came into view at some distance, driving
behind a car with a trailer. The technician said, "That's a good car." That turned out, according to the man
from the fact that the car came from England under its own power. Moments later, the technician said:

"That is a very good car." According to the technician, this was because the man in the car with
trailer let a woman drive the Silver Shadow II. Then the car got thorough
studied and several tests were performed by the technician, which are then
approved that this car could be bought with confidence.
The current owner has officially owned the car since March 16, 2012 and has about 8,000Mls with it
driven. The technical maintenance was always taken care of by Leo Stoffels and the body was in the
winter months restored in phases by Henk Scholten Volvo Damage Repair in Arnhem. By the
over the years, the following has been done on maintenance and restoration, since 2012;
- Front sills L + R restored at drainage
- Wheel running L + R rear renewed
- Complete roof including window frames V + A restored
- Transitions parafan mudguards restored and tinned Ditto rear
- Window rubbers V + A and trunk rubber renewed

- Carburettor overhauled

Most of the original details have been preserved over the years and are still present
in the car. The original cassette player is present in the trunk and in the dashboard is a
modern radio with bluetooth car kit mounted with new speakers.
The history as far as documented is present in the car, incl report for the control of the
extremely low mileage before the car came to NL.
On the windshield is a recognition of the presence at the 90th birthday of Prince Philip
Windsor Castlle in 2011. There is a photo of the car standing there and the Prince greeting him.
Publicity:
- When the car was just in NL, the car magazine Carros made an extensive report.
- For RTV-Utrecht, the car drove foreign tourists around for a promotion
- Cinecars and Autovisie / Telegraaf have made and published videos of the car
