"When the Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow was released to the public in October 1965, the development departments were showing the result of work carried out over a period of some ten years and the largest production volume of any Rolls-Royce. The new models, designed by J.P Blatchley, were technically striking in three ways. A monocoque chassis was used, all wheels were sprung independently, and four-wheel disc brakes now ensured stopping power of the sort that had come to be expected in a modern car. Under the bonnet, the V8 engine that had been introduced in the Silver Cloud series was employed.This wonderful example is presented in a very attractive colour combination of Regal red over a tan leather interior and is a desirable Chippendale dashboard model. This Rolls-Royce also benefits from the optional extra of rear picnic tables and benefits from a restoration undertaken by a European restoration company in 2004 to the tune of circa 18,000 Euros. An engine rebuild was undertaken at a tune of 9,700 euros in 2006. In more recent time the car has benefited from a recent comprehensive service and tune up and is reported to be in good driving order. The paintwork shows some minor blemishes but is generally very good still retaining a deep shine. The interior is in lovely condition, the seats and dash are presented very nicely and show a light patina as you would expect for a car of this age.
