The magnificent 1953 Rolls-Royce Silver Dawn saloon featured here is finished in stunning Sterling Silver over Deep Red Connolly leather surrounded by magnificent Burled Walnut woodwork. This exquisite US-spec Silver Dawn was ordered new through Royston Rolls-Royce by Frederick R. Mann Esq. It was completed at the factory in February 1953 and delivered new to him April 1953.
In 1963 was sold to its second owner James Scott Appleby of Washington DC who would care for the car until it added to a world-class collection in 2006 where it was restored to a Concours-level with no expense spared. Seldom does an American left-hand drive Rolls-Royce Silver Dawn come to market, especially in this incredible condition and stunning color combination. We strongly believed the investment potential of this iconic model, which was built at a time when Rolls-Royce was building the world’s finest motorcars with the care and craftsmanship evident in every detail, will grow beyond your imagination. We are extremely pleased to offer this incredible Rolls-Royce Silver Dawn to the most demanding collector, investor, or enthusiast who desires to own one of the very best!
Model History:
The Silver Dawn introduced in 1949 was a “badge-engineered” Bentley Mark VI and became an enormously successful early post-war car. Aimed at the lucrative American market, the Silver Dawn offered an eminently usable Rolls-Royce and appealed to the owner-driver. Its silky road manners are quite simply delightful and entirely suitable for modern motoring.
